PURPOSE OF THE RESIDENCY IS TO CREATE NEW MATERIAL OBJECTS OF WAR TESTIMONY IN LOCAL AND GLOBAL CONTEXTS.
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO WORK IN UKRAINE AND, BEING INSIDE, TRY TO REFLECT OUR OWN PRACTICE AND CONSIDER DIFFERENT ART STRATEGIES.
HOW DOES OUR PERCEPTION OF THE HUMAN BODY CHANGE?
HOW DOES DEHUMANIZATION WORK IN THE CONTEXT OF WAR?
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TALK ABOUT SELF‑DEHUMANIZATION OR ABOUT REFLECTION OF PROPAGANDA DEHUMANIZATION?
WHAT DOES THE ECOLOGICAL ASPECT OF WAR LOOK LIKE AS A GESTURE OF AGGRESSION OF NOT ONLY HUMANS TOWARDS HUMANS, BUT ALSO HUMANS TOWARDS INHUMAN ACTORS?
HOW ARE MEMORY PROJECTS USED IN JUSTIFICATION OF THIS WAR AND HOW ARE CERTAIN EVENTS AND DATES ARE REINVENTED?
We think about alternative approaches, which include the role of art and artist as a figure, as opposed to the most visible approach in the art of rapid response through the display of victims or winners.
The exhibition of the results of the residency was open on June 8 in Ivano‑Frankivsk and was located in those working rooms where some artists worked and stayed — in workshops, exhibition space and shelter.
